Help! This guy is frigging annoying! Did I do the right thing?

So there's this senior guy I met recently through a mutual friend. Ever since we met, he used to be really clingy and obsessive, like he would flirt with me a lot and text me every frigging day. And if I don't text back, he gets obsessive like he'd accuse me of ignoring him or that I don't find him important at all. Oh for gods sake! Sheesh! -__- Anyway, eventhough it gets really annoying, I still act nice and friendly towards him. And the other day, we texted for over 30 minutes (I forced myself the entire time) and when I finally told him that I had to sleep, he was like 'Okay, text me tomorrow, alright?'. The following day was really busy for me, and he calls me tells me, okay, you're an idiot. Why didn't you call me? I asked you to call me? I was like 'Shut up! Are you kidding me?' Of course. I didnt say that. Instead I got pissed off and told him 'Because you're not my boss? And why are you acting so obsessive? Its so annoying!'. And he was like 'Wow. you're rude'. I wanted to punch him on his face, but I quickly hung up the phone making an excuse'. So again a while ago, he kept texting me asking me out to go and play some sport. I texted back with one word reply and finally told him 'Okay, that sounds boring'. I mean seriously, what does it take get the hint that I'm desperately trying to ignore him? For gods sake! Idk if I did the right thing, but I KNOW he want to hit on me, but I don't wanna give him a chance! I DO NOT LIKE HIM AS MORE THAN A FRIEND! We're not even dating and he's already acting so clingy and its fvcking annoying! Thoughts?
