Not enough space on my ps3 hardrive?

So I'm trying to download the game Infamous on my ps3 and it says there's not enough space on my hardrive. I have a 40 gb original ps3. I don't have any videos except for netflix and no music, and I deleted tons of things off of my saved data utility and game data utility, all there is is my important game files and there's not very much of them, about 6 files. I added it up and game utility and saved utility is only using about 2 gbs. Yet, on my ps3 setting it says I only have 1700 mbs of 40 gbs remaining. Wtf is wrong? Thanks.
