Can I still use nonstick cookware if I have a bird?

I was simply wondering if my bird is on a different story on the opposite side of the house if there is any way i can still use nonstick cookware. If not what is the alternitive. Also I have heard the same chemicals released from nonstick cookware can be created by hairdyers, straighteners, ect. How can I find out if this chemical is released from my hair gizmos?
