I see your point. However, should mortgage lenders given out mortgages to people they knew couldn't afford them? Many mortgage lenders gave out mortgages to people who didn't put any down payment at all on the home they purchased. These lenders and now you are now paying the price for their poor judgment. Accountability cannot be just applied to individuals. The businesses that gave out these loans need to have their es kicked too.
