SSH Secure Shell Client previous command?

How in SSH Secure Shell Client does I bring up the most recent previous command or commands? Say I type in 'xxxxxx' then hit enter I want to bring up that same command again w/ out having to retype it? Also how do I do this in Putty? I used to know, but its been a while and I haven't located how to do it through google or yahoo.... Thanks
